| Ventotene is the island f volcanic origins with a beautiful roman port the tuff quarries, the unbelievable architectures excavated in the rocks and the remains of the romans fishfarms which make the island very original and singular. Ponza, rich with ancient treasures gorgeous promontories and bays is the ideal place for the anchorage. The main town, which forms and amphitheatre around the harbour, was built in the end of the 18th century. The abundant fishing has contributed to the development of this island and its still the main resource. You can move to the unhabited natural oases of Palmarola, famous for the marvellous underwater world and Zannone, part of the National Park of Circeo which gives home to many protected species of birds. |
